The 2nd Sprint75 RTTY contest was run on the 15th September 2019, but sadly 36 of the 104 submitted logs thought the contest ran a week later on the 22nd September. This was due to incorrect contest data being held on a website outside of the BARTG domain. Entrants are advised to always check http:// BARTG.ORG.UK for all contest information for that is where I maintain all documentation and the schedule of our contests.
It is a shame as the lost entrants logs reduced the number of entrants down to 68. From the soapboxes entrants highlighted the poor propagation making the contest a struggle. However despite this many enjoyed the event.
The SOAB section saw OH2 HAN take first place by a comfortable margin from OH8WW who beat F5QE into third place. In the popular SOAB100 section things were much closer. G0MGM took top honours closely followed by G4HVC and OK2BXW in second and third places respectively. Our Experts section SOE saw IT9VCE just hold off 9A1CRT to take first place K6DRR/1 came home third. The SOABQRP section saw only 4 entrants, conditions will not have helped them but OZ/SP2 UUU persevered and managed a fine first place with OH2LU in second place with SP6EIY in third. Our congratulations to all who placed in the contest. Don't forget you can download your position certificate from the icon on the right had side of the table.
I thank all who participate in our contests and hope that you enjoyed participating in them BARTG's contests are amongst the most popular RTTY events held each year not only with the numbers of entrants but also the even larger number of stations who enthusiastically give points away to entrants. It is their participation that makes the contests so vibrant and enjoyable. I hope to see your callsign in the list once again in 2020.
