2025 BARTG Sprint PSK63 Contest

The fourth and final event of the 2025 BARTG Championship took place on 21 September and attracted an entry of 67 logs. Another 39 stations participated in this contest.

Conditions during the contest did not favour the higher bands with only 30% of the QSOs made on 20/15/10m. Only 1% of the QSOs were made on 15m and 10m. The majority of the QSOs were made on 40m (52%) with the remaining 18% of QSOs made on 80m. In all, the logs contained just under 3900 QSOs.

The rules for this contest are based on the BARTG Sprint75 event; the main difference is a mode change from 75 dB RTTY to PSK63.

The Sprint PSK63 rules also retained the five minute band change rule in the SOAB, SOAB100 and SOABQRP sections. This rule means you can only use a single radio and, once you have made a contact on a band, you cannot change bands for five clear minutes. The Section SOE is the only section where the use of the SO2R technique is permitted and where you can change bands more often than once every five minutes.

Several entrants either didn't spot or forgot about this rule and have lost points as a result. If you see `Band Switch Rule' in your UBN Report, this means you have been penalised for changing bands too often.
